Milage is measured from the bridge over the Shepaug River.

Turn left out of the parking area onto Route 47 and continue to Route 109: 0.9 miles. Turn left onto Route 109 and continue to Sabbaday Lane: 1.93 miles. Turn left onto Sabbaday Lane and continue over the hill to Romford Road: 4.03 miles. There is a tiny cemetery on the left just before this intersection.
Turn right onto Romford Road and continue to Route 109: 5.43 miles, Go across Route 109 onto Nettleton Hollow Road and continue on this road to Wykeham Road: 6.49 miles. Turn right onto Wykeham and continue to East Street: 7.29 miles. Turn left onto East Street and continue to the intersection with Calhoun Hill Road: 8.23 miles. Notice the tiny school house on the right.

The turnaround point is at 8.26 miles at the intersection of Calhoun Hill and Potash Roads (both will turn to dirt and end back down on Nettleton Hollow). See photo
So far it's been pretty much uphill. The downhill starts after a mini tour of Judea. Turn back toward the school house (at the intersection with East Street) and continue to Judea Cemetery Road: 8.41 miles.

Turn left onto Judea Cemetery Road and continue to the old cemetery: 8.76 miles.
Turn around here and go back to the intersection with Bell Hill Road: 9.77 miles. Continue on Bell Hill Road to Wykeham Road and turn right: 10.27 miles, (Note - there is no sign for Wykeham Road at this intersection).Continue to Old Litchfield Road: 10.47 miles. Turn left onto Old Litchfield Road and continue to Route 109: 11.42 miles. Turn left onto Route 109 and enjoy the downhill ride to Route 47: 13.23 miles. Turn right onto Route 47 and return to parking area: 14.25 miles
